Bausano's medical sheet extrusion lines consist of single and twin-screw extruders for medical grade materials. Bausano extruders are used to produce non-toxic foils for medical bags for transfusion, dialysis or phleboclysis.
The process flow of the medical sheet extrusion is similar to that of the medical bags, but the difference is that the sheet extruded is single and it is not created a medical bag right away, but only after. At the end of the extrusion the sheets are wrapped with a calendar. Most of the medical sheet production are made with PVC. That is because PVC transparent sheet have many advantages of fire-resistance, high quality, low cost, high transparent, good surface, no spot, less water wave, high strike resistance and are easy to mould.
The stringent requirements of the medical industry necessitate precision, reliability, and adherence to strict quality standards in the production process. Medical sheets are designed to possess several key characteristics essential for their intended applications:
- Sterility: Medical sheets must maintain sterility to prevent contamination of medical devices and instruments during storage and use.
- Durability: Sheets should be strong and tear-resistant to withstand handling and transportation without compromising their integrity.
- Compatibility: Medical sheets must be compatible with various sterilization methods, including steam, ethylene oxide, and gamma irradiation.
Flexibility: Sheets should be flexible enough to conform to different shapes and contours, facilitating their use in various medical procedures.
Types of Medical Sheets with Bausano Extrusion Lines
There are several types of medical sheets tailored to specific applications:
- Sterile Barrier Sheets: Used for packaging and enclosures to maintain the sterility of medical devices and instruments.
- Wound Care Sheets: Hydrocolloid and silicone sheets for wound dressing and management.
- Surgical Draping Sheets: Non-woven fabric sheets for creating sterile barriers during surgical procedures.
- Orthopedic Splint Sheets: Thermoplastic sheets for molding customized splints and braces in orthopedic applications.
