co-extrusion machines

Compact and versatile solutions for the co-extrusion process

Co-extrusion for different applications

We offer a wide range of co-extrusion satisfying the request of compact machines ranging from Ø25mm to Ø60mm, versatile and strong.

This range of machines is also used in medical industry, centres of research and universities as well as all plastic industries.

These co-extruders are able to extrude all thermoplastic materials such as PVC, PU, PE, PP, PC, PA, PMMA, PSU, PBT, LCP, PLG, PEEK, FEP, ETFE, PVDF.

Co-Extrusion Process

Generally, co-extruded products are composed of two different materials, creating an inner core and an outer shell.

Unlike ordinary plastic mixing, each individual plastic retains its original properties, but is combined into a compound-material, with higher physical, biological or chemical properties thanks to the combined materials.
Our co-extruders can also be applied to some food extrusion with the same principle and advantages of plastic polymers.

Bausano co-extruders can be assembled on one of the many available supports for any exigency, solving the often problem of reduced space

Bausano co-extruders are mainly used for the productions of:

  • Medical tubes and multilumen tubes;
  • Co-extruded tubes;
  • Technical profiles, plates, sheets;
  • Co-extrusion of coloured stripes on tubes, cables and profiles;
  • Pet Food, grain based or cereal food.

How Does the Co-extrusion Process Work?

Co-extrusion is an extrusion process used to obtain a product that combines two textures: one material is extruded and continuously filled with another to form a single product.

Which are the advantages of the co-extrusion?

  • High quality mono-layer extrusion coatings in larger varieties of line speeds and widths;
  • Use of lower cost materials for filling purpose, assists in saving on the amount of qualitative resins;
  • Capability of making multi-layer as well as multi-functional structures that too in a single pass;
  • Reduction in the number of steps required in general extrusion process provides targeted performance with the use of definite polymers in particular layers;
  • Reduction in setup and trim scrap potential for use of a recycle layer.
